Can these be used to remove rosin from violin, viola, etc, strings?
Answer: No, these wipes are designed for guitars and are not recommended for sensitive violins, violas, etc. We suggest using solutions specifically designed to remove rosin. -
Question:
When I come to use these Wonder wipes, do I have to take my strings off or can I use it with the strings on?
Answer: It is recommended to use fretboard conditioning oil when changing strings. Removing the strings allows for better access to the fretboard and ensures even distribution and absorption of the oil. Applying oil with the strings on can make them slippery and attract dirt, affecting playability and string lifespan. -
Question:
Can I use it on a maple fretboard?
Answer: No, you should never apply any oil to a maple fretboard. Maple fretboards are sealed and applying oil can cause discoloration, weaken the bond between the coating and wood, and potentially ruin the fretboard. Conditioning oils meant for dark open-pore woods should not be used on sealed maple fretboards. -
