Mabef Easels Editorial Review
**** The Mabef Backpacker Easel (MBM-23) has garnered a mixed yet largely positive reception from users who value outdoor easeling and compact, easy-to-transport setups. Artists who have chosen this easel frequently praise its combination of sturdy Construction, lightweight design, and practicality for plein air painting. The quality of the wood, primarily beech, seems to resonate well with many, with reviews highlighting smooth finishes and solid joints that don’t compromise durability. Users appreciate the thoughtful hardware design, noting that crucial components like the leg joints and wingnuts offer solid support and reliability, making this easel suitable for various outdoor environments—whether it be on the beach, in fields, or amongst rocky terrains. The leather backpack straps add to its portability, though some suggest they could be thicker for added comfort. However, the easel does come with caveats. Some customers have reported issues with lower-quality components, such as a palette board made of particle board instead of wood, which appears less robust. Additional concerns include minor defects upon delivery and gaps in the packaging that could lead to damage. While many are willing to address these imperfections with DIY fixes, they express disappointment in what they perceive as lapses in quality control and packaging from the manufacturer. Overall, the Mabef Backpacker Easel stands out for its classic design and functional features for traveling artists, though Prospective buyers may want to be aware of its potential drawbacks and ensure they are prepared to make small adjustments as needed. **
