One major downside is it sometimes requires an adult's strength to break it, and might feel small for adults. The leather seems to be strong, and it is well laced. However, it lacks the normal webbed pocket for balls to fall into; instead, balls tend to hit the pocket and bounce out. Thus, catching due to the limited performance is frustrating.
