Kiss Format: Audio CD Album-Oriented Rock (AOR) 2140759 Editorial Review
Animalize Remastered is the album which ensured KISS's return to their hard rock style after abandoning their makeup and costumes gimmick. Although it wasn't received positively by critics overall, it reached #19 on the charts and became their first album to get the RIAA PLATINUM certification since 1979's Dynasty. The return to their hard rock style also contributed to the revival of KISS's music with notable tracks like Heaven's on Fire, Thrills in the Night, and Under the Gun. Animalize is Considered a metal album and featured Mark St John as their lead guitarist on this album. However, he was diagnosed with Reactive Arthritis during recording and couldn't finish it, so Bruce Kulick completed the guitar solos. The album itself, as described by KISS fans, is a must-have classic.
